Project launched 3 July

The first Practical Enquiry Day for the FEASST project was held on 3 July at the Work-based Learning CETL at the Institute of Education. Despite very short notice, we had 7 presentations of various assessment practices involving technologies, from a range of contexts. A key question asked by presenters was: Is what I am doing formative assessment? No surprises there – this is going to be a crucial question for developing the ‘cases’ of formative e-assessment (FEA) during the rest of these days to be held during the autumn term.

So far, about 15 practitioners and researchers have joined the user-group to get involved in the project – a great start, but we’re still looking for more. Trudie Roberts (ALPS CETL) pointed out her 3 criteria which make it worth doing something like this:

  • got to learn something new
  • got to be taken out of our comfort zone
  • got to provide fun…

We’re working on it….

Next Practical Enquiry Days are:

2 October

3 November

4 December
